SYDNEY SWANS TO LAUNCH QBE SYDNEY SWANS NORTH COAST ACADEMY AT NOVOTEL PACIFIC BAY RESORT
Paul Roos and Sydney Swans captain Adam Goodes will be on hand to launch the QBE Sydney Swans North Coast Academy on Tuesday, February 8 at the Novotel Coffs Harbour Pacific Bay Resort.
The Coffs Harbour area has 12 young players who have recently been accepted into the QBE Sydney Swans North Coast Academy. The Academy is headed by former Swans coach Paul Roos and provides an intensive training program to develop junior AFL talent in NSW.
The Academy, which caters for boys aged between 9 and 18, will ensure talented youngsters have a clear pathway to one day play for the Sydney Swans if they are good enough
An Academy training centre has been established at the Novotel Pacific Bay Resort, where the young Coffs Harbour region players will be coached each week by AFL experts.
The QBE Sydney Swans North Coast Academy is a branch of the QBE Sydney Swans Academy, which also includes regional centres in the Illawarra, Hunter and Central Coast areas, along with three centres in Sydney.
When it is full operation, the QBE Sydney Swans Academy program will provide access to an elite AFL development program for 720 boys each year.
The newly inducted members of the QBE Sydney Swans North Coast Academy will attend the launch. Current members and their junior clubs include:
- Jordan Perks, Tayler Perks, Sam Taylor, Jake Saunders, Levi Sands - Sawtell/Toormina
- Brendan Norton, Kane Latham - North Coffs
- Jack Mapleson, Jake Brown – Coffs Swans
- Kobe McClure, Lachlan Philpott- Port Macquarie
- Mitchell Dickson – Camden Haven
